Welcomes to Mahashakti Yogpeeth

About Msyp

Congratulations!  You have just taken the first step to embarking on the Greatest Journey a human being can take; the Journey within.  Mahashakti Yogpeeth is an organization dedicated to understanding, honoring and connecting with The Divine – to be more precise, The Shakti or Energy aspect of Divine. One can feel Her form of compassion and love here and once The Call is heard, it can never be unheard again. The primary focus of this spiritual organization is to accentuate the importance of turning within to discover our truer identity. The term used to cultivate this exploration is known as Yoga. While Yoga recognizes many paths, Meditation, Bhakti (path of love and surrender,) Karma (the path of action) and Jnana (the path of knowledge) are the paths mainly practiced here.

The organization’s objective is to ask an individual to inquire about his/her True Self by dint of diving within with the aid of meditation. Other helpful means, namely: bhajans, chants, and mantra prepare aspirants to harbor a sincere desire to transform oneself and evolve their consciousness to ever new and greater heights.  By following these practices, one grows in compassion, thus it becomes only natural to extend a hand in succor to others!

  • Vision

Our organization’s leader Didi Ma Shivani is in total sync with Sri Aurobindo and the Mother’s vision of the Supramental Yoga which possesses the ability to not only rid a human of physical diseases and the scourge of old age, but bring the Light into a person’s physical being making him/her the architect of his/her own physical dissolution if and when it is desired. Indeed, we have quite a long way to cover before it can be achieved, but none the less our part in striving to attain such splendor must begin regardless. The Supramental Force (or S. Force) brought into this atmosphere by Sri Aurobindo has been made available to the entire humanity. Provided an individual is prepared to receive such a tremendous Force and open himself/herself enough t…

Didi Ma Shivani (Guru Ma)

Known to many and revered across India and United States Didi Ma Shivani or Guru Ma, has been directly under the aegis of Divine Mother Kali; to be precise Mother’s Bhavatarini – Brahmamayi aspect that used to appear to her from an early age, always from Dakshineshwar, a place she had never been to, or didn’t know about at that time.  The journey of decades does include many profoundly influential leaders of the past century; siddhas, bhaktas and men of knowledge, then the advent of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in the subtle form, and last but not least a meeting with the Guru of the gurus Sri Dattatreya in physical form who is considered the source of all forms of yoga (paths) in India.  Ma speaks of them all with great reverence and love. She believes that all these experiences made her consciousness global by which she recognizes and respects all paths equally.  In her company the latent Shakti (power) of a being begins to awaken thus opening the pathway for the aspirant to walk the spiritual journey.  By doing so, a grand personal transformation begins to take place granted the student regularly does work on his/her part. For that’s when the flame from within shines its best. While there is much more to be said about Ma, at the moment I leave you with the famous quotation of (the Gita) by the great Swami Vivekananda: "As the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."  For Ma it was the Divine Mother Kali in whom merged all and who claimed her as her own in every way.

Ask a Spiritual Question

Let’s not ask a question just for the heck of it!  While journeying toward Divine there are many times in an aspirant’s path when what was just experienced during a meditation or perhaps a message/statement that is found in spiritual materials is difficult to properly decipher.  When dealing with such spiritual experiences, one feels the need to understand the deeper meanings underlying what was just presented before them!  This section can be used at such times!  Please write your question in either of the language – Hindi or English.  We do not endorse the mixture of the two languages, so in the writing of your questions please make sure to write purely one language or the other.

Question Criteria

  • Question must be under 200 words.
